What are character strengths?
Character Strengths are the positive parts of your personality. They impact how you think, feel and behave. According to The VIA Institute on Character, when you know your best character traits, you can improve your life and thrive. Research shows that using your character strengths can help you:
-
Improve your relationships, with yourself and others
-
Enhance health and overall wellbeing

Buffer against, manage and overcome challenges, like breast cancer

What is mindfulness?

How can mindfulness and character strengths help you rise up from breast cancer?
"Mindfulness fosters introspection, giving you an opportunity to explore your character strengths and build upon them for greater well-being". ~VIA Institute on Character

Mindfulness and character strengths help you change the way you relate to yourself (your thoughts, your feelings and your body). When you change the way you relate to yourself, you change the way you relate to your breast cancer journey. This allows you to cultivate a compassionate and accepting approach toward yourself, and use your character strengths to express what is best in you. This is how you rise up from breast cancer!
